From every intern, artist, producer, writer, and staff member here at Cafe.com:

On behalf of everyone here at Cafe.com, I'd like to wish all our readers and players a happy and healthy Hanukkah, and a season filled with blessings and miracles. And presents. Lots of presents. 8 nights of them to be exact!
Need a quick history brush up? Hanukkah (or really, Chanukah) AKA "Festival of Lights" is a celebration of the re-dedication of the Second Holy Temple in Jerusalem after the Maccabean Revolt, and the miracle that is said to have occurred then: though there was only enough oil left in the despoiled temple to light the eternal flames for one day, they continued to burn for eight nights.
Today, Hanukkah is celebrated by lighting candles each night for eight days on a menorah, placed in the window of a home to remind passerbys of the miracle. Many familes also exchange gifts each of the eight nights, and eatting foods fried in olive oil like latkes and homemade dougnuts.
Check out Wikipedia for a more complete history of the holiday. Happy Hanukkah!

Well here's something nifty and new: Cafe.com would like to introduce it's online storefront at Zlio.net. At the Offical Cafe.com Store you can find all sorts of great real life games and accessories, like this lovely wooden Chinese Checkers set, or this New York Mets Edition Uno for all you Queens fans out there. We've even thought up some other stuff you might like... Mani/Pedi's anyone?
In other news, there's two new Cafe.com applications on Facebook: Busta Fruit and Together Jigsaw.
It's that time again - another Cafe.com contest! In honor of the season, the name of the game is Temple of Mahjong: Christmas.
You know the shpeel by now: Log on to Cafe.com and play ToM Christmas between December 17th and January 2nd to be automatically entered to win. High score at the end of the contest period will take home a beautiful Wood Expressions Mahjong set with black leatherette case, a must have (or great gift) for any Mahjong afficianado (of course, if you can't wait for the end of the contest, you could also pick one up from the Cafe.com Store...) .
In other news, big stuff going on at the Cafe.com site. The Coin Shop is up and running, allowing you to re-charge your Cafe Coins and buy up as many boosts and MiniMe customizations as you want! Go pick up some more coins now!
Hey there folks. Seems like I've been a bit MIA the last few weeks - holiday craziness and all that. But I'm back today to share a bit of happy news: Hasbro has dropped its lawsuit against Scrabulous creators Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla.
Readers may remember that Hasbro first filed suit and takedown notice against the wildly popular Facebook application back in July. Hasbro's reasoning was, of course, not wanting competition for its new official Scrabble on Pogo.com. On the other hand, you have to wonder all the public backlash Hasbro faced was worth the dismal 8,900 daily users Scrabble attracts (compared to the relaunched Scrabulous, which as "Wordscraper" continues to boast half a million users per day).
Of course, if you prefer your Facebook applications legal controversy-free, Cafe.com offers a few great options...
Ick. It's a nasty, dreary day out there people. Cold, wet, without even the promise of snow to make it worth it. It's days like this that make you want to put on a robe, mix up a cup of hot cocoa (maybe play some free online games), and stay in bed.
Take my advice: Just do it.
Hey everybody. In honor of the season, Cafe.com is offering a special way to earn new CafeCoins: Share the joy with your friends! For every friend you invite who registers with Cafe.com, you'll earn a whopping 1500 CafeCoins to use for boosts, MiniMe customization, and other extras on the site.
