Thanksgiving Deliciousness
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! A time to gather with the family, give thanks for all your good fortunes... and of course, stuff your face with deliciousness. Mustn't forget the face-stuffing. In honor of that, I thought I'd present you with my very own recipe for just that - stuffing.
The required amount for each ingredient is an estimation, and you may want to use less or more of each depending on how much breadcrumb/stuffing mix you're using. The following is assuming you're using one 8-oz box.
Super Awesome and Simple Stuffing:
1 large white onion
3-6 stalks of celery
1 large package of mushrooms
1 - 1 1/2 cups Dried cranberries
1/2 package Jimmy Dean (or your favorite brand) un-cased sausage
One 8-oz package of any cornbread or plain stuffing mix (I use Pepperidge Farm )
Chicken broth or stock (as much as is called for on the stuffing box)
Mince and sautee the onion, celery, and mushrooms with some salt and pepper until cooked through. Set aside. Do the same for the sausage (minus the salt + pepper) in a separate pan, then set aside as well.
Prepare the stuffing mix according to the instructions on the box, using the chicken stock instead of water. Mix all the ingredients in a casserole dish and bake according to stuffing instructions. Devour.
What? You're waiting for more? Nope, thats it. Seriously, it's that simple. And amazing.
Happy Thanksgiving from everyone here at Cafe.com!
